Gilas Pilipinas’ 2019 FIBA World Cup team is set but head coach Yeng Guiao won’t reveal just yet.
Following the last tuneup game agaist the Adelaide 36ers Sunday, Gilas Pilipinas has finalized the team that will play in China for the World Championships.
The official announcement, via the Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas, should come no later than Monday.
“Meron na,” Guiao said of the final lineup. “[Pero] gusto ko a pahabain ang suspense eh.”
“Hindi, meron na. The lineup is going to be released by t he SBP. It will be coursed through the official website,” coach Yeng said.
The final Gilas lineup still needs to be approved by management but Guiao says there should be no problem with the decision.
Running the lineup through the bosses is mere formality.
“We need to have it approved, si boss MVP tsaka si boss Al Panlilio. I don’t see any problem with the approval,” Guiao said.
“I think they will agree with it, formalities na lang yun but it has to pass through them. It’s in the process of being relayed to them so baka anytime lumabas na,” he added.
