Gilas Pilipinas takes a loss for its last tuneup game ahead of the 2019 FIBA World Cup.
Australia’s Adelaide 36ers got back at the national team, picking up a convincing 85-75 win Sunday at the Meralco gym.
With Gilas struggling from the field, the 36ers were the exact opposite as they shot the lights out in the opening period, taking an early 29-13 lead.
The returning Kiefer Ravena tried to jumpstart the Gilas offense, scoring seven straight points to start the second but the national team’s shooting woes continued.
Adelaide eventually built a 21-point lead in the second half which Gilas would never overcome for a 10-point loss.
Andray Blatche led the national team with 16 points in the loss while Ravena was good for 11 in his first game back from FIBA suspension.
