FIBA: Gilas Pilipinas leaves for World Cup as ready as it can be

Gilas Pilipinas is all set for the 2019 FIBA World Cup.
The national team had its final Manila practice Wednesday and Gilas is off to China Thursday morning to compete in the World Championships.
Tuesday’s training was all about fine-tuning its executions for the World Cup and Wednesday’s final practice was all about having fun and staying loose before things get really serious when they set foot in the Chinese city of Foshan.
“We’re okay today. We wanted to be a little bit more relaxed and a little bit more fun,” head coach Yeng Guiao said.
“When we get to China tomorrow, we’ll start to do really serious work again,” he added.
As the World Cup looms, Gilas has done pretty much everything possible to prepare.
Leaving no stones unturned, the actual World Cup games are now next in line for the Philippine national team.
“I think we’re ready, as ready as we can be,” Guiao said.
“I don’t think matatagalan acclimatization natin [in China]. That’s my only concern actually. Tomorrow, we will conduct are practice at the game venue,” coach Yeng added.
