It was another quick practice for Gilas Pilipinas Monday at the Meralco Gym.
The national team wrapped up training in just a little over an hour, focusing on specific things mostly on offense.
With majority of the national team players seeing action in the PBA Sunday, head coach Tim Cone wanted his guys to stay fresh.
“Eleven out of 15 players played last night. I really wanted to be careful with the guys and not push them too hard,” he said.
“We were very specific on what we wanted to do. Mostly worked on our offense,” Coach Tim added.
Despite having consecutive practices end early, Cone says he’s not too worried about Gilas not getting anything done.
Cone’s main focus is still to bring everything together for this Gilas iteration and he’s confident they can get the job done in time for the Southeast Asian Games.
“I’m always gonna be disappointed that we didn’t get everything done. That’s the way I am. But these guys pick up things so fast,” coach Tim said.
“I’m not worried. We still got time. They know everything instinctively as it is,” he added.
