“Na-miss ko mag-suot ng Pilipinas jersey.” — Terrence Romeo.
For the first time since July 2018, Terrence Romeo is back in the Philippine national team.
Romeo attended practice for the first time Monday as he’s part of the Gilas 3x3 pool for the 2019 Southeast Asian Games.
Last suiting up for the national team during the infamous Gilas-Boomers brawl last year, it’s Terrence’s first appearance wearing the Gilas jersey again.
“Na-miss ko mag-suot ng Pilipinas jersey,” Romeo said.
“Excited, sana maging deserving ako na makalaro kasi ang lalim ng pool eh, ang lalim ng line-up,” he added of the 3x3 pool.
It seems full circle that Terrence is back in 3x3, he certainly dazzled during his run in the game a couple of years back.
However, Romeo still wants a shot at making the actual Gilas team. Terrence arrived at the Meralco Gym Monday just as a couple of the 5x5 team members were leaving the court after practice under coach Tim Cone.
“Okay kung ganun pero sa hindi hindi, kumbaga dapat maging deserving din ako sa 5-on-5,” Terrence said.
“Kumbaga hindi dahil nag-3x3 Gilas Pilipinas ako kaya lang ako babalik sa Team Pilipinas ulit,” he added.
