FIBA: China dominates Gilas women in pre-OQT play

Gilas Pilipinas’ trip to New Zealand for the FIBA women’s Olympic Pre-Qualifying Tournament didn’t result to any victories.
The women’s national team got clobbered by China, taking a 127-49 beating Sunday in Auckland.
Needing a win to fortify their chances of making it to the OQT proper, the Chinese wasted little time in establishing dominance, opening with a 36-10 first quarter.
It was smooth sailing from there as China finished Group A play with a 2-1 record.
Xu Han led the way with 26 points while six others finished in double figures.
Gilas Pilipinas got 16 points from Janine Pontenjos. No other Filipina crack double digits.
The Phlippines dropped all three of its games in the tournament.
