The 2019 Southeast Asian Games edition of Gilas Pilipinas is set.
Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas officially announced the team Saturday, about a week before the regional tournament hosted by the Philippines.
Coached by Tim Cone, the Gilas team is made up of LA Tenorio, Japeth Aguiar, and Stanley Pringle of Ginebra, June Mar Fajardo, Marcio Lassiter, and Chris Ross of San Miguel, Troy Rosario and RR Pogoy of TNT, Vic Manuel of Alaska, Christian Standhardinger of Northport, Matthew Wright of Phoenix, and Kiefer Ravena of NLEX.
The final cuts were Scottie Thompson, Greg Slaughter, and Art Dela Cruz of Ginebra. TNT’s Jayson Castro missed the cut due to injury.
The Philippines has dominated SEA Games basketball and Gilas looks to add another gold medal with a loaded lineup. The national team is back in practice after the 2019 PBA Governors’ Cup quarterfinals.
