MANILA — Gilas Pilipinas women pick up the country’s first official win in the 2019 Southeast Asian Games for 3x3 basketball.
The Filipinas made quick work of Myanmar Sunday, scoring a 21-4 win at the Filoil Flying V Center here.
Clare Castro didn’t start for Gilas but she feasted inside once she entered the court.
The FEU star towered over Myanmar, at one point scoring five straight points. She finished with eight markers.
Janine Pontejos hit three treys for six points, including the final stepback to end the game. Afril Bernadino added four points and Jack Animam finished with three for a nice opening performance in the 2019 SEA Games.
