MANILA — Gilas Pilipinas women’s perfect run in 3x3 basketball of the 2019 Southeast Asian Games ends at the hands of Thailand.

Thailand ruined the Philippines’ winning streak Monday at the Filoil Flying V Center here, picking up a thrilling 22-20 overtime victory in pool play.

It was a back-and-forth game throughout, with the Thais finding life thanks to their outside shooting.

Gilas women sent the game in extra time after Afril Bernardino beat the final buzzer with a putback off her own miss.

However, Thailand’s shooting would carry over in OT, ending the game in the first possession with a booming trey.

Bernardino led Gilas women with eight points, but she never had the chance to win the game for the Philippines in extra time.

Janine Pontejos fired three treys on her way to seven points while Jack Animam added four. Clare Castro rounder out scoring for the Philippines with one point.

Gilas women will enter the medal rounds in the afternoon with a 4-1 mark.
