MANILA — Mo Tautuaa hit the shot to seal the Philippines’ first-ever gold medal in SEA Games 3x3 basketball.

With Gilas Pilipinas dominating Indonesia in the gold medal game Monday, Tautuaa left no doubt, capping the Philippines’ perfect 8-0 run in the tournament with a booming trey.

“It felt good, man. Icing the game like that, it feels good,” Tautuaa said.

“But it’s more so the 19 points leading up to that. That felt better, the team bringing us there. The energy was really going and that was more exciting for me,” he added.

In suiting up with CJ Perez, Chris Newsome, and Jason Perkins, Tautuaa got his first SEA Games gold.

Winning in Manila, with his family in attendance at near courtside, makes the whole experience extra special for Mo.

“Gold is the goal right? That’s what we came for,” Tautuaa said.

“It’s not everyday you get to play for a medal and it’s not everyday you win that medal. Doing that, winning... you can’t put words to it you know?” he added.
