Filipina golfer Bianca Pagdanganan helped the University of Arizona women's golf team win their third-ever national title after they edged the University of Alabama in the 2018 US NCAA women's Division 1 Golf Championship at Karsten Creek Golf Club in Stillwater, Oklahoma.
The eighth-seeded Wildcats beat the Crimson Tide in extra holes after Lakareber Abe hit a birdie to knot things up.
Haley Moore then shot the game-winner in the 19th hole for the sudden-death victory over Abe and Alabama.
Although Pagdanganan lost to Cheyenne Knight, 4 and 2, in the finals, the Quezon City native was instrumental in wins during the the earlier rounds and the opportunity for Arizona's first title in 18 years would not have been possible if it not for the Pinay golfer.
Pagdanganan, who played for Gonzaga University in her first two years, rejuvenated Arizona's match-play hopes when she led the Wildcats in their upset win over the top-seeded UCLA via a thrilling comeback, after their playoff victory over Baylor.
She then towed Arizona to the match-play semis for the first time in school history, where they took down Stanford.
