Valley Golf South Course's Hole No. 7 will make for enjoyable golf during the 2020 Don Celso Tuason and Valley Founders Cup in February.
The 2020 Don Celso Tuason and Valley Founders Cup presented by Phoenix Petroleum promises to be one of the most spectacular member-guest golf tournaments of the coming year.
Now in its 21st edition, Valley Golf and Country Club's flagship event is traditionally held in May. But for 2020, the tournament, which is nicknamed the DCT Cup, has been moved earlier in the year, to February 20 to 23. This was done to ensure cooler weather for the participating golfers.
"We are all excited about the new dates for the DCT Cup. We think it's going to make a great tournament even better," says Valley Golf president Willy Manahan.
As always, the club has pulled out all the stops to make the DCT Cup a highlight of the golfing calendar. Named after club founder Don Celso Tuason, the member-guest tournament ticket is P10,000 for each two-man team. That fee includes two tournament rounds, one each on Valley's South and North Courses, as well as two practice rounds.
Gift certificates from J-Ten Sports will already exceed the value of the entry fee, but there is so much more for participants to enjoy. There will be daily breakfast or lunch for the golfers, and cocktails in the first three days. The awards night will feature a sumptuous feast and entertainment on the evening of the 23rd.
A plethora of minor and major raffles as well as piligan/mulligan raffles await the lucky golfers. Participants can also choose to buy a grand raffle ticket for P3000 that entitles them to a shot at winning a luxurious Audi A4.
Speaking of cars, two enticing SUV hole-in-one prizes will have all of the golfers aiming for the flags. An Audi Q2 is on offer on the South Course while a Hyundai Kona will be up for grabs in the North.
"With the help of our generous sponsors, we know that the 2020 DCT Cup is going to be an unforgettable four days for everyone who signs up," says DCT Cup Chairman and Valley Golf Board Member Carlo Carpio.
The 2020 DCT Cup will signal another milestone in the continued ascent of the venerable golf club in Antipolo, Rizal that opened its doors in 1961. Valley's share price has nearly tripled in recent
years as improving profitability has allowed the club to make major improvements in the courses and facilities.
Last July the club began replacing the greens on the South Course with zoysia matrella, a hardy, drought-and-shade tolerant grass, using an innovative plugging method that did not disrupt play. After just six months the new grass has established itself beautifully on the putting surfaces, and should make for enjoyable golf during the DCT Cup.
Valley Golf members and their guest partners can sign up for the DCT Cup until January 19, 2020. There are only slots for 400 teams, so it's best to sign up now!
The DCT Cup is also a superb venue to market your product or service to the golfing community. For sponsorship inquiries contact Reiko Sampan at [email protected].
