The general notion about martial arts is that it predominantly is a young man’s game, and that getting into it late in life may not really equate to success.
Anthony Bourdain, however, has managed to disprove all of it, after recenly earning his blue belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu after just a year and a half of training.
The famed television host got into the art mainly because of his wife Ottavia and their daughter, who both train under the renowned Renzo Gracie Academy in New York City. In an instant, Bourdain went on from “getting squashed by younger, more fit and experienced people”, to grinding and eventually showing a good amount of progress every day.
His hard work has definitely paid off as he now joins the ranks of middle-aged folks who hold a good amount of knowledge in subduing another man without actually hurting them.
Congratulations, Mr. Bourdain!
