The ball continues to roll for the Philippines’ premier mixed martial arts organization!
Following a successful maiden trip to the United States, the Universal Reality Combat Championships (URCC) heads back to home soil and teams up with the Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (PAGCOR) for another night of exciting fights.
On Saturday, January 28, the URCC and Casino Filipino present “Battle Extreme Tournament of Superstars” or BETS, headlined by heavy-handed MMA veteran Caloy “Bad Boy” Baduria taking on Baguio’s Jessdan Dela Peña.
“This event is something that we’ve been envisioning since about eight years ago. We have an actual partnership with PAGCOR.” said URCC head honcho Alvin Aguilar. “Because of this we’ll be able to have more URCC fights with fighters, more opportunities for them, and more exposure. It’s a win-win situation for everybody.”
“MMA is rapidly gaining popularity among Filipinos, especially since the country has emereged as a major player in the Asian regional scene, with a number of Filipino fighters winning titles and gaining recognition in the region.” said PAGCOR Officer-In-Charge and Assistant Vice President for Entertainment Jimmy Bondoc, via an official press release.
“We want to promote some of the country’s best pro-fighters, at the same time bring a whole new level of entertainment to our guests and patrons,” Bondoc added.
Also on the card, Arvin “Asintado” Chan meets Askar Mozahrov, and Ernesto Montilla Jr. takes on Sem Bicaldo.
URCC/Casino Filipino B.E.T.S. will go down at the Coral Ballroom of the Casino Filipino Pavillion on Saturday, January 28th.
