AJ Matthews gets back on track with a decision win over Kendall Grove
Filipino-American mixed martial artist AJ 'Pison' Matthews got back on the winning path after taking a Split Decision win over former UFC star and The Ultimate Fighter winner Kendall Da Spyder" Grove, Friday evening at Bellator 193 in Temecula, California.
Making a move back up to middleweight, Matthews used his high-level striking to outpoint the Hawaiian Grove throughout three rounds, doing enough to get the nod on two of the three judges' scorecards, 29-28, 28-29, and 30-27.
Matthews, a close friend and training partner of reigning ONE Championship heavyweight titleholder Brandon Vera, finally gets back on the winning column to snap a four-fight losing skid.
The 30-year old improves to 9-7 in his career.
