Alex Brown overcame some adversity to claim a 5th place finish in the Rotax Invitaitional in Sepang, Malaysia last weekend.
Filipino-British Karting champion Alex Brown is off to a blazing start in 2015, finishing fifth in the Cadet category of the Rotax Invitational Race in Sepang, Malaysia last weekend.
In a field that included 24 racers from all over Asia, Brown managed to qualify at fourth in the time trials, but got bumped out in the heats, forcing him to have to begin the pre-finals in 18th position. Brown’s confidence did not waver however, as he managed to speed past ten other competitors to finish at eighth place. In the finals, Brown went on to finish at fifth position.
According to father David, this was the best driving that he had seen from his son, as the 11-year old speedster needed to drive aggressively, but also remain defensive in order to clinch a podium finish.
The impressive start prepares Brown as he gets set to compete in the Rotax Max Challenge Asia which kicks off in March.
