Bacoor remained king of Cavite as it made quick work of crosstown rival Imus, 79-57, Thursday at Bulacan Capitol Gymnasium.
The Strikers drew big games from the triumvirate of reigning and defending MVP Gab Banal, Mark Montuano, and Michael Canete for a bounce back win following a loss to open the MPBL Lakan Cup.
Banal did it all with 17 points, six rebounds, three assists, and three steals to lead his team in getting the better of the Bandera for the second straight season. Montuano then chimed in 18 markers and six boards while Canete also added 17 points and seven rebounds.
Kapamilya star Gerald Anderson was the lone bright spot for now 1-1 Imus with 14 points and four rebounds as ex-pros Jayjay Helterbrand and James Martinez struggled and only combined for 12 markers, six rebounds, and four assists.
Meanwhile, General Santos silenced the crowd of home team Bulacan with an 81-77 decision.
John Orbeta showed the Warriors the way to a 1-1 standing with 16 points and seven rebounds while Robbie Celiz posted a 14-point, 13-rebound double-double.
With the same record are the Kuyas who were paced by Dan Sara and his 16 points.
