The Makati Super Crunch took apart the Pasig Sta. Lucia Realtors 100-87 on Tuesday in the Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League Lakan Season.

A banner night from Josh Torralba meant a highly-anticipated showdown between two North Division powerhouses did not live up to its billingas as a close thrillier, as Makati was dominant at the Valenzuela Astrodome. Torralba piled on 24 points, followed by Jeckster Apinan's 21.

Cholo Villanueva's team wasted no time in stamping their class, with a hellacious 34-point first quarter fueled by 8 points from Apinan and triples from Juneric Baloria and John Rey Villanueva.

At the half, Super Crunch were ahead 52-39. Leo Najorda's astonishing 19-point third quarter put Sta. Lucia back in the game, but they still trailed 78-68 heading into the fourth period.

Halfway through the last segment Torralba converted an alley-oop and rifled in a three-pointer on back-to-back plays for a 92-76 lead that spelled doom for the Pasigueños.

Super Crunch go to 13-3 with a third straight win while Pasig stumbles to 10-5 despite Najorda's 29 points.

Valenzuela 97 - 83 Muntinlupa

In the final game of the schedule a resurgent Valenzuela Classic SPV Top Marketplace routed an overmatched Muntinlupa Cagers - Angelis Resort 97-83.

Val Acuna had another standout evening with 18 points to lead Valenzuela. Paolo Hubalde also delivered the goods with 17 markers as Gerry Esplana's team is back in the playoff hunt at 7-11.

The Classic burst out of the gates with a 23-14 lead in the first period. That advantage had bloated to 51-33 at the half courtesy of an incredible run of 3 straight three-pointers from Acuna and additional production from Jaymar Gimpayan and Ford Ruaya.

Despite the best efforts of Biboy Enguio and Edzel Mag-isa, SPV Top Marketplace kept up the pressure in the third and ended the quarter leading 77-54. Valenzuela led by as much as 31 in the payoff period before taking their foot off the gas and allowing Munti to put some respectability into the scoreline.

Jamil Ortuoste and Enguio were Angelis Resorts' co-top scorers with 14 apiece, but they nonetheless drop to 4-14, one slot ahead of cellar-dweller SOCCSKSARGEN in the South Division.

Bataan 84 - 65 Bacolod

In the first game of the day the Bataan Risers buried Bacolod Master Sardines 84-65 with a strong finishing kick in the fourth quarter.

Byron Villarias was magnificent with 25 points but new signing Reed Juntilla was not far behind with 21. The Risers led 39-25 at the half but in the third quarter Bacolod awakened with a 9-0 run set off by a Mac Tallo triple, then Jopher Custodio's triple to end the period brought the Negrenses to within 6, 56-50 to start the final canto.

But early in the 4th Villarias provided the first 8 points of a 12-0 run that restored an 18-point advantage with a bit more than 5 minutes left, putting Bacolod out of reach.

Tallo lead Bacolod with 14 points while Pao Javelona had a rough night, mustering only 3 points as Master Sardines slumps to 6-10 with a second straight loss. Bataan, on the other hand, are back in the playoff hunt at 8-8.
