MPBL: North repeats as champions in Executive game

For the second straight year, the Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League Executive game went to the North.
The North Executive All-Stars repeated over their counterparts from the South, taking a 79-68 win Thursday at the MOA Arena in the 2020 MPBL All-Star Games.
Makati-Super Crunch team owner Paolo Orbeta bagged MVP honors for a second year in a row after leading all scorers with 29 points. He also had eight rebounds, four assists, and two steals.
Orbeta partnered with former UST Growling Tiger Jemal Vizcarra for a17-7 run late that ultimately won them the game.
"Siyempre hardest is to win back-to-back championship. We have to motivate ourselves kung paano kami magcha-champion. Kailangan namin kunin ito sa other team," Orbeta said.
The North Executives were made up of Nueva Ecija’s assistant team manager Mike Baldos, Caloocan head coach John Kallos, Quezon City team owner Onyx Crisologo, Bataan team manager Gary Palmero, Pasay co-owner Miguel Ligot, Navotas team owner Rico Quicho, Valenzuela congressman Eric Martinez, Pampanga team owner AG Gonzales, Manila owner Roman Ang, Marikina team owner and head coach Elvis Tolentino, San Juan team executive Chris Conwi, and Bulacan team owner and congressman Jonathan Alvarez.
Meanwhile, the South were composed of Bacoor team manager JR Navarro, Basilan general Manager Danny Rebosura, Muntinlupa team manager Kaizer Galvez, Binan team owner Gel Alonte, Cebu owner Miguel Wong, Zamboanga team manager Alvin Munio, Davao assistant team manager Raul Alao, Batangas team manager Gerrin Tee, Bacoor team owner Dennis Abella, and Mindoro team owner Justin Tan.
The South got 22 points from Javelosa in the loss. MPBL founder Manny Pacquiao didn't suit up this yeaar. the Fighting Senator scored 28 points in a South loss in 2019.
