"Let's turn the negativity to good vibes by bonding with our family. Hindi boring sa bahay kasi ang tahanan ay binabalot ng pagmamahal." - Makati-Super Crunch head coach Beaujing Acot
Makati-Super Crunch head coach Beaujing Acot focuses on the good things amid the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.
Coming off a grueling 91-88 victory over North kings San Juan-Go for Gold in a closed-door Game Two last March 12, Makati was raring to finish off the defending champions in Game Three that was supposed to take place two days later.
But the 2020 Chooks-to-Go MPBL Lakan Division Finals was suspended indefinitely due to COVID-19.
However, instead of dwelling on the unfortunate event, Super Crunch head coach Beaujing Acot got his eyes on what his coaching staff can do during the long, unexpected break.
"This is the best time for our coaching staff to check the rights and wrongs in our system," said Acot, who took over the coach reins of Makati back in December last year.
"We are back to the drawing board because coaching is a never-ending job. Coaching is a lifetime learning."
For the players, they are instructed by the coaches to remain in shape while also making sure that they stay safe, hence, the home workout.
"The players are doing home workouts, which means limited lang ang mga equipment so I told them to improvise. Go out of the box," added Acot.
Acot, who is also the founder of Pinoy Youth Dreamers (PYD), also does his part in this pandemic, through the PYD Cares.
They have already started giving out food packs to frontliners at East Avenue Medical Center last March 29.
PYD Cares will also include the MPBL staff in their next distribution of food packs.
With the pandemic sipping all the positivity, Acot has a reminder for all: "Let's turn the negativity to good vibes by bonding with our family. Hindi boring sa bahay kasi ang tahanan ay binabalot ng pagmamahal."
