LA Lakers rookie Lonzo Ball has some good news for Pinoy fans.
The second overall pick of the 2017 NBA Draft announced that he will be visiting the Philippines “next summer.”
Ball made the announcement on the Facebook page, “Follow the Balls,” which is a Big Baller Brand page “for the Philippines and the entire Pinoy community.”
Big Baller Brand is the sports apparel and footwear company that was founded by Ball’s father LaVar.
In the post, Lonzo says, “It’s crazy how global basketball is. People have been telling me that the Philippines love the Lakers, so we made a Big Baller Brand fan club called Follow the Balls for the Filipino community.
“I am really excited to travel to the Philippines next summer and can’t wait to meet y’all as I travel through the states this season!”
During the 2017 Las Vegas Summer League, Ball averaged 16.33 points, 7.67 rebounds, 9.33 assists, 2.50 steals, and 1.00 blocks, and was named tournament MVP.
