NEW ORLEANS (AP) — Pelicans forward Anthony Davis and Cavaliers guard Dwyane Wade are set to return from knee injuries as New Orleans hosts Cleveland on Saturday night (Sunday, PHL time), but Cavs guard Derek Rose is out for a fourth straight game.
Cleveland coach Tryonn Lue says Rose is not yet ready to return from a left ankle sprain, and that Iman Shumpert will start in his place. However, Lue also says Wade is ready to return from his left knee bruise.
Pelicans coach Alvin Gentry says Davis is prepared to play after leaving a game in Portland on Tuesday night (Wednesday, PHL time) with left knee quadriceps tendinitis and missing Thursday night’s (Friday, PHL time) game in Sacramento. Gentry says New Orleans has another addition to the lineup as veteran forward Josh Smith, who was signed as a free agent this past week, is active for the first time.
