Legendary NBA players Magic Johnson and Isiah Thomas reconciled on a special episode of Players Only Monthly on NBA TV.
The two participated in a one-on-one sit-down interview with each other and touched on a variety of topics, but the most important segment was when Johnson apologized to Thomas, saying, "You are my brother. Let me apologize to you if I hurt you—that we haven't been together. God is good to bring us back together."
The two then embraced to close out the session.
Johnson, currently president of the LA Lakers, and Thomas, a commentator on NBA TV and team president of the WNBA's New York Liberty, were close friends early in the 80's, but began to drift away when the teams they were playing on back then, the Lakers and the Detroit Pistons, respectively, clashed including in the NBA Finals.
While Thomas reportedly helped get Johnson a spot in the 1992 NBA All-Star Game after Johnson retired after being diagnosed with HIV, Johnson later said in the book 'When the Game Was Ours' that Thomas had "questioned his sexuality and that several players did not want him [Thomas] on the original 'Dream Team' that easily won Olympic gold."
