INDIANAPOLIS (AP) — Indiana Pacers center Myles Turner will miss the next two games with an injured right elbow.
Turner was initially hurt on a dunk during Monday’s (Tuesday, PHL time) 109-96 victory over Milwaukee but finished at the game.
Team officials announced Wednesday (Thursday, PHL time) that he was still being evaluated.
Domantas Sabonis is expected to replace Turner in the lineup Wednesday night (Thursday, PHL time) against Miami, which also will be playing short-handed after James Johnson was suspended by the NBA for throwing punches during Tuesday’s (Wednesday, PHL time) victory at Toronto.
Turner is averaging 13.9 points and 6.5 rebounds and is second in the NBA in blocks with 2.24 per game. He also will miss Friday’s (Saturday, PHL time) game against Cleveland.
Johnson averages 10.6 points, 5.1 rebounds and 3.9 assists.
