Gentry, Van Gundy fined for officiating comments

NEW YORK – New Orleans Pelicans head coach Alvin Gentry has been fined $15,000 for public criticism of the officiating, it was announced today by Kiki VanDeWeghe, Executive Vice President, Basketball Operations.
Gentry made his comments to the media following the Pelicans’ 107-101 loss to the Houston Rockets on March 17 (Mar. 18, PHL time) at Smoothie King Center.
In addition, Detroit Pistons head coach Stan Van Gundy was also fined $15,000 for public criticism of the officiating, VanDeWeghe similarly announced.
Van Gundy made his comments to the media following the Pistons’ 100-87 loss to the Portland Trail Blazers on March 17 (Mar. 18, PHL time) at Moda Center.
