LeBron James believes still having Dwyane Wade on the Cleveland Cavaliers roster would have been "very, very good" for his club.
Speaking to reporters after practice on Friday (PHL time), James responded in the affirmative when asked if he wished the team still had Wade.
"Oh absolutely. I mean, listen, not only from a brotherhood aspect, and what we know about one another, and also from an experience factor....He's a guy that's kind of built for the postseason at this point in his career.
"So [I] definitely, definitely think about it," James said. "It seems so long ago that he was even a part of this ballclub, but [I] definitely think about it from time to time."
Wade signed this past offseason with the Cavaliers, after reaching a buyout with the Chicago Bulls. He played 46 games with the Cavs, and averaged 11.2 points, 3.9 rebounds, 3.5 assists, and 0.9 steals in 23.2 minutes an outing, while shooting 45.5 percent from the field, 32.9 percent on three's.
Prior to the 2018 NBA trade deadline however, the Cavaliers opted to send Wade back to the team that drafted him, the Miami Heat. Wade then helped his old club secure the sixth see, though they lost in five games to the Philadelphia 76ers in round one, despite him putting up 16.6 points, 4.2 boards, 3.6 dimes, and 1.4 steals.
James and Wade were teammates on the Heat from 2010 to 2014, winning championships in 2012 and 2013. They were also teammates on multiple incarnations of Team USA.
