Per Yahoo Sports' Shams Charania, guard Jamal Crawford has declined his player option with the Minnesota Timberwolves and will thus become a free agent this offseason.

Crawford played in 80 regular season games for the Timberwolves, all coming off the bench, and averaged 10.3 points (41.5 FG%, 33.1 3FG%), 1.2 rebounds, and 2.3 assists. In the team's five playoff games against the Houston Rockets, he normed 11.8 points (44.7 FG%, 41.2 3FG%), 2.6 rebounds, 2.4 assists, and 1.0 steals.

Crawford is a three-time Sixth Man of the Year, having won the award once with the Atlanta Hawks, and twice with the LA Clippers. The 38-year-old was drafted eighth overall in 2000 by the Cleveland Cavaliers, but was traded on draft night to the Chicago Bulls.

Last offseason, Crawford was targeted by both the Cleveland Cavaliers and the Golden State Warriors, but explained in an interview that "Sometimes it's more gratifying to help teams go from one point to another point," something he achieved when he helped the Timberwolves reach the postseason for the first time since the 2003-04 season.
