The now two-time NBA champion and Finals MVP made his first Philippine trip for Nike this weekend as he promotes his new signature shoe, the KD 11.
For the first time in seven years, Kevin Durant is back in Manila.
And just like the first time, he loves it here.
The now two-time NBA champion and Finals MVP made his first Philippine trip for Nike this weekend to promote his new signature shoe, the KD 11.
Durant described his latest Asian tour, which had its Manila stop Sunday, as more or less like a "movie."
"It’s been a rollercoaster, so many different emotions that go to this journey. I learned so much from the game of basketball that I try to apply on my personal life, experiences and traveling with Nike over my career," Durant said.
"I’ve been to so many cool places. I’m just grateful man, thankful that I got the opportunity to do so much with the game of basketball and change my life forever," he added.
In his Manila stop, Durant met fans at the flagship Nike store and played an exhibition game with local collegiate stars at the Big Dome.
With these kind of trips, Durant says he can focus on himself rather than the grind of the NBA season.
But as he comes off a second straight title with the Warriors, KD is more relaxed, saying he can enjoy his summers more.
"I’ve just been moving around. I think my vacation is just mentally releasing, getting away from the game," he said.
"Now that our season’s over, I can focus more on me. It’s even better when you can end it with being [on] the best team in the world. It’s pretty cool going into the summer being that," Durant added.
