Knicks Gaming (No. 15 seed) won THE TICKET, the third and final tournament of the NBA 2K League’s inaugural season, defeating Celtics Crossover Gaming 83-80.
With their victory, Knicks Gaming received an automatic bid to the playoffs as well as prize money and a steel champion banner. The single-elimination tournament began on Thursday, July 12 (Friday, July 13, PHL time) with a play-in game, and was followed by games featuring the 1st -15th seeds and winner of the play-in game. Seeding was determined by a team’s performance during the four weeks of regular-season games preceding THE TICKET.
Following THE TICKET, there are four weeks of regular season remaining for teams to secure their place in the postseason before playoffs begin on Aug. 17 (Aug. 18, PHL time). The playoffs run for two weeks, and the seven teams with the best regular-season records and the winner of the final tournament are guaranteed playoff spots. All competition is streamed on Twitch and takes place at the NBA 2K League Studio Powered by Intel in New York City.
