76ers, Hawks, Pelicans announce roster cuts

Philadelphia 76ers press release

PHILADELPHIA – Philadelphia 76ers General Manager Elton Brand announced today that the team has waived forward Cory Jefferson, guard Darin Johnson and center Emeka Okafor. Per team policy, terms of the deals were not disclosed.

Jefferson and Johnson signed with the team on Oct. 12, while Okafor joined Philadelphia on Sept. 21 and appeared in two preseason games.

The 76ers roster now stands at 17.

Atlanta Hawks press release

ATLANTA -- The Atlanta Hawks Basketball Club has requested waivers on C.J. Anderson, R.J. Hunter and Thomas Robinson, it was announced today.

Anderson signed with the Hawks on Oct. 9, Hunter on Sept. 7 and Robinson on Aug. 30.

New Orleans Pelicans press release

NEW ORLEANS – The New Orleans Pelicans announced today that the team has waived forward Garlon Green and guard Jarrett Jack.

Green, who was originally signed on July 24 after playing on the Pelicans’ summer league team in Las Vegas, appeared in four preseason games, averaging 4.0 points and 1.5 rebounds. Jack, who signed with New Orleans on September 19, appeared in three preseason games, averaging 3.3 points, 2.0 assists and 1.0 rebounds.

New Orleans’s roster currently stands at 16, including one two-way player (Trevon Bluiett).
