Warriors president of basketball operations Bob Myers is accepting the blame for Kevin Durant's latest injury.
Speaking to the press after the game, Myers revealed that Durant suffered an Achilles injury, though the full extent of it won't be known until he gets an MRI tomorrow (Wednesday, PHL time).
Myers also reiterated that Durant's prior injury was a calf injury, and said that the two were unrelated.
A teary Myers explained Durant's decision to play in today's Game 5, saying "Prior to coming back he went through four weeks with a medical team, and it was thorough and it was experts and multiple MRIs and multiple doctors, and we felt good about the process.

"I don't believe there's anybody to blame, but I understand in this world, and if you have to, you can blame me. I run our basketball operations department. And to tell you something about Kevin Durant, Kevin Durant loves to play basketball, and the people that questions whether he wanted to get back to this team were wrong."
Durant logged just under 12 minutes, producing 11 points on 3-of-5 shooting, with all makes coming from beyond the arc, in addition to a pair of free throws. He also had two rebounds and a block.
Myers also provided a passionate defense of Durant, describing him as "one of the most misunderstood people." He went on, saying "I know Kevin takes a lot of hits sometimes, but he just wants to play basketball, and right now he can't. Basketball has gotten him through his life. So it means, I don't know that we can all understand how much it means to him. He just wants to play basketball with his teammates and compete."
Durant did manage to take to Instagram following the injury and the Warriors' win, sending out, "I'm hurting deep in the soul right now I can't lie but seeing my brothers get this win was like taking a shot of tequila, I got new life lol. #dubs"
