Learn about Cebu-born Jon Lee's journey from being a ball boy to an award-winning strength coach
With the Toronto Raptors on the brink of a historic first-ever franchise NBA Championship, the spotlight has never been brighter on the NBA's lone Canadian franchise.
And while much of the credit for bringing a title to The Six will be placed on All-Stars Kahwi Leonard and Kyle Lowry, key players like Pascal Siakam, Serge Ibaka, Fred VanVleet, and Danny Green, and first-year head coach Nick Nurse, even on General Manager Masai Ujiri.
If you ask any of these guys though, they will be the first to say that just as much credit will go to the people behind the scenes, and one of those people is a proud Pinoy who has quite the amazing story.
Cebu-born Jon Lee moved to Vancouver when he was five years old, and eventually made his way into the then-Vancouver Grizzlies franchise as a ball boy.
Now, Lee is a two-time Strength Coach of the Year for the title-hunting Toronto Raptors.
