The LA Lakers have reportedly agreed to terms with free agent guard Quinn Cook, Chris Haynes of Yahoo Sports reports.
Free agent guard Quinn Cook has reached an agreement with the Los Angeles Lakers on a two-year, $6 million deal, league sources tell Yahoo Sports.— Chris Haynes (@ChrisBHaynes) July 6, 2019
Cook began the offseason as a restricted free agent of the Golden State Warriors, before the team withdrew his qualifying offer in the wake of the deal to sign former Brooklyn Nets D'Angelo Russell.
Averaging 6.9 points, 2.1 rebounds, and 1.6 assists last season, Cook should give the Lakers a much-needed dose of playmaking, along with some shooting, at the point guard position. The team's only other option at that position as of writing is restricted free agent Alex Caruso.
