MANILA, PHILIPPINES – The Jr. NBA Asia Pacific Boys Team secured a spot in the single-elimination phase of the Jr. NBA Global Championship at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex at Walt Disney World in Florida after tallying a 2-1 win-loss record in the tournament’s pool play.

Filipino cagers Henjz Gabriel “Kobe” Demisana, Sebastian Roy Reyes, and Lionel Matthew Rubico helped the Asia Pacific Boys Team defeat China and Mexico. Through three games, Reyes is averaging 6.3 points and 6.0 rebounds, Batangas native Rubico is norming 5.7 points, 4.3 boards, and 2.3 assists, while Bacoleño Demisana leads the team with 1.7 blocks. Despite the winless record, Asia Pacific Girls Team point guard Diane Camille Nolasco led the squad in points (6), assists (3), and steals (1.4) over three games.

With the culmination of pool play, teams will be seeded for the Jr. NBA Global Championship Bracket Play which will start on Saturday, Aug. 10, 2019 (PHL time). All Jr. NBA Global Championship games will be available live on Twitch at https://www.twitch.tv/nba.  Following each live broadcast, games will also be available to view on-demand, giving fans the opportunity to watch the events when it is convenient for them around the world.
