One of the biggest what-could-have-been's in the NBA is the "What If" of Kobe Bryant and Shaquille O'Neal staying together on the LA Lakers.
The duo led LA to a three-peat from 2000 to 2002, and then reached the NBA Finals anew in 2004, but the two mega-stars simply couldn't get along, and O'Neal was traded to the Miami Heat that offseason.
That issue was brought up again when Bryant, speaking in an on-stage interview with Patrick Bet-David for Valuetainment, said, "I wish he [Shaq] was in the gym [training during his stint with the Lakers], I would have [expletive] twelve rings."
Fan account Lakers24ever posted a clip of the interview on Instagram, and it earned the attention of O'Neal, who commented, "U [Bryant] woulda had twelve if you passed the ball more especially in the finals against the pistons" and "You don't get statues by not working hard."
But if you thought this was going to become another Shaq-Kobe brouhaha, the duo quickly squashed that notion on Twitter.

Of course, Shaq being Shaq, couldn't help but take a shot at Dwight Howard, whom the Lakers recently re-signed.
