The Brooklyn Nets will have to wait a little longer to see Kyrie Irving on the floor with the team.
According to the Nets, Irving is expected to miss the Nets' first preseason game on Friday (Saturday, PHL time)) as he recovers from facial fractures under his eye.
Irving suffered the injury last week while working out with his teammates. He wore a protective mask during training camp on Tuesday (Wednesday, PHL time).
The 27-year-old guard joined the Nets this offseason after playing two seasons with the Boston Celtics.
