Detroit Pistons forward Blake Griffin could opt for season-ending knee surgery, Chris Haynes of Yahoo Sports reports.
Haynes writes that Griffin "will visit a specialist this week because of his ailing left knee, and season-ending surgery is being considered." He added that Griffin would see this specialist sometime this week.
Griffin had a standout season for Pistons in 2018-19, his first full campaign with the team, averaging 24.5 points, 7.5 rebounds, and 5.4 assists, while shooting 36.2 percent from beyond the arc.
However, he appeared in just 75 regular season games for Detroit, including missing 4 of his side's last 7 outings. He also missed their first two games of the Playoffs, against the Milwaukee Bucks, before returning in the last two, though the team was still swept by their foes.
This season, Griffin has just 18 appearances, norming 15.5 points, 4.7 rebounds, and 3.3 assists. Detroit is just 13-24, 11th in the Eastern Conference.
