Utah Jazz guard Donovan Mitchell took to social media to share his support for the Philippines following Sunday's Taal Volcano eruption and the resulting ash fall that affected the country.
Damn this is wild! Praying for the Philippines and everyone effected ???????????? https://t.co/y50YT71hOs— Donovan Mitchell (@spidadmitchell) January 13, 2020
"Praying for the Philippines and everyone effected," Mitchell wrote, retweeting a video of the Taal Volcano eruption.
It would appear that the Philippines holds a special place in Mitchell's heart, after he was welcomed by fans in the country with open arms during a press tour back in 2018, following his stellar rookie season. Mitchell went on to finish second in Rookie of the Year voting that season, but still continues to be the main man for the Utah Jazz.
Mitchell is currently averaging 24.2 points per game, 4.4 assists per game, and 4.4 rebounds per game to lead the Jazz, who are currently at third in the NBA's stacked Western Conference.
