Kai Sotto will join forces with Jalen Green in the G League.
As per The Athletic's Shams Charania, the Philippines' towering tantalizing talent has decided on Monday, his 18th birthday, to jump straight to the NBA's developmental program.
Charania also added that Sotto is the first international player to take this new path for promising prospects.
The full-blooded Filipino follows the footsteps of Green, the US's top-ranked talent out of high school who traces his roots to Ilocos Sur.
The 7-foot-2 Sotto and the Filipino-American high-flyer had crossed swords in the 2018 and 2019 National Basketball Training Centre League National Finals and All-Star Games.
Now, they will be together in the G League's select squad in Southern California alongside other high school players Isaiah Todd and Daishen Nix.
Green was the first commit to the NBA G-League select program, which serves as an avenue for prospects who opt to skip college and take a year before they enter the NBA.
