Coach Ayo on Letran’s game plan: ‘Gusto namin magulo’
CONTROLLED CHAOS. Aldin Ayo said he wants Letran to be tired after each and every game because their effort is all they have to overcome their lack of height.

Seldom will a coach be heard saying that he dislikes order on the playing court, but that is exactly what first-time head coach Aldin Ayo is asking from Colegio San Juan de Letran.

“We want it the hard way. Ayaw naming mag-relax. Gusto ko mapagod (ang players ko) kasi yun lang ang puhunan namin,” Ayo told reporters on Tuesday at the San Juan Arena.

He then concluded his train of thought with emphasis, “Gusto namin magulo.”

Ayo’s boys were only more than happy to follow orders as they forced 33 turnovers converted into 32 points en route to an 82-53 rout of College of St. Benilde. The Knights were all over the floor for the entire 40 minutes of the contest as they employed a non-stop full-court press that never gave their opponents any chance to find their rhythm.

More than the victory in both the standings and statistics, Ayo’s philosophy has also returned promising initial results from his players.

Kami, kahit minsan naguguluhan din kami, talagang magulo yung kelangan namin para mawala sila sa patterns nila,” team captain Mark Cruz told ABS-CBN Sports.

Top-gunner Rey Nambatac was also happy with what he saw in saying, “Ayaw kasi ni coach yung sistema so gusto namin magulo para magawan namin ng paraan yung pagiging maliliit namin.”
