NCAA ManComm upholds forfeiture of LSGH's win over Letran

League commissioner Bai Cristobal's recommendation to forfeit the game won by College of St. Benilde-De La Salle Greenhills was upheld by the NCAA Management Committee.
The NCAA Management Committee on Wednesday upheld the recommendation of basketball commissioner Bai Cristobal to forfeit the opening day victory of the College of St. Benilde-De La Salle Greenhills Greenies against the Letran Squires in the high school division.
The Greenies routed the Squires, 88-49, last Tuesday to start their campaign in the 91st NCAA basketball competition but during the made an infraction of “the use of the wrong uniform”.
Under the NCAA rule, teams are only allowed to use jersey nos. 00 to 19 only.
CSB-LSGH fielded three players, Jesmar Pedrosa, Ladis Lepalam and Alain Madrigal with jersey nos. 20, 27 and 28, respectively.
Cristobal said that Letran didn’t file a protest but he decided to give his recommendation of forfeiture to the ManComm after it was brought to his attention the uniform violation made by the Greenies.
LSGH has yet to file an appeal as of posting.
