The Altas look to keep proving they deserve their preseason hype when they shoot to become the first team to three victories at the expense of the Mapua Institute of Technology Cardinals on Tuesday at the San Juan Arena.
Tip-off is at 4:00 PM.
In their previous outing, Perpetual seized a convincing win on the back of a monster 44-point, 17-rebound outing from Bright Akhuetie together with a triple-double from Scottie Thompson.
Mapua also took an impressive win of their own the last time around thanks to a second straight 20-point outburst from Josan Nimes along with some timely defensive stops by Allwell Oraeme.
In the day’s other game at 2:00 PM, College of St. Benilde and Emilio Aguinaldo College figure in a battle for a first win of the season.
The Blazers have already tasted two defeats as only fifth-year player Jonathan Grey has been able to find the bottom of the net on a consistent basis while fellow veteran Fons Saavedra and rookie JJ Domingo are yet to find their strokes.
The Generals suffered a setback in their opener as they fell victim to an offensive onslaught by the five-peat champions. Aside from the fact that they will be facing a different opponent, the good news is that top wing player Sydney Onwubere is set to make his debut after sitting out the first game.
