HAILED ARE THE CHIEFS. After undefeated Letran, Dioncee Holts and Arellano own the longest active winning streak at three.
Games on Friday at the San Juan Arena
12PM - Mapua vs EAC
2PM - JRU vs Lyceum
4PM - Arellano vs San Sebastian
Following their dud of an opener, Arellano University has unleashed three consecutive victories in the 91st Season of the NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament.
Jiovani Jalalon and the Chiefs shoot for a share of the second spot via a fourth win in a row at the expense of the San Sebastian College-Recoletos Golden Stags on Friday at the San Juan Arena.
Tip-off is set at 4:00 PM.
The Arellano offense was held to 32 percent shooting from the field in their opener, but has been firing on all cylinders since then. Jalalon is making a case for MVP as well as best point guard in college while reigning Rookie of the Year Dioncee Holts finally showed up in their most recent outing.
On the other hand, the inconsistent play of Rodney Santos' Golden Stags has sent them into a 1-3 standing. After Jamil Ortuoste and company gave league-leaders Letran their only scare of the season, San Sebastian hardly showed up to compete against Perpetual the last time around.
Meanwhile at 12:00 PM, Mapua Institute of Technology and Emilio Aguinaldo College meet for the first time since their infamous on-court brawl a year ago.
Both the Cardinals and the Generals want and hope that no such thing happens again especially with Josan Nimes and his team are looking to finally add another win after falling just short in back-to-back games while Sidney Onwubere and his squad are looking for win number one.
In the day's other game at 2:00 PM, the Jose Rizal University Heavy Bombers seek their first winning streak of the season when they go up against the Lyceum of the Philippines University Pirates who are coming off a loss.
