RALLYING CRY. Jonathan Grey and CSB hope that their second win of the season will encourage their schoolmates to watch and support them during games.
Jonathan Grey was held to a personal season-worst six points as College of St. Benilde was only able to total a league second-worst output of 49 points in their most recent outing.
Grey and the Blazers made sure there was no repeat on Tuesday at the San Juan Arena. The fifth-year guard had 20 points in the first two quarters alone and finished with a stout line of 29 points, eight rebounds, six assists, three blocks, and two steals in CSB’s 88-66 blowout win.
Asked what changed coming from their deflating 47-69 defeat a week earlier, Grey told ABS-CBN Sports, “Alam niyo naman nangyari after nung game na yun. Binigyan kami ni coach (Gabby Velasco) ng ilang araw na walang practice para magusap-usap na kami lang.”
Now the Blazers have bounced back, Grey is hoping that their morale-boosting victory is only the first step back to contention. As they begin their climb up the standings, the Laguna native is urging the Taft community to climb up as well in terms of game attendance.
“Sana magtuloy-tuloy na yung mga panalo pagkatapos nito. Sana manood na rin yung students,” he shared with ABS-CBN Sports.
