MAKE THE PLAYS. Scottie Thompson and Jiovani Jalalon will battle to determine who the best playmaker in the league is.
Games on Thursday at the San Juan Arena
2:00 PM – JRU vs San Beda
4:00 PM – Arellano vs Perpetual
Four teams are on the heels of league-leading and still perfect Letran and all of them were bound to collide in the NCAA 91 Men’s Basketball Tournament.
The time to sort out their order has come on Thursday at the San Juan Arena with Scottie Thompson aiming to make more plays for University of Perpetual Help than Jiovani Jalalon can for Arellano University and San Beda College and Jose Rizal University staking their three-game winning streaks against each other.
At 4:00 PM, Thompson and Jalalon duel to settle who the best playmaker in the league is while their teams duke it out to determine who the stronger new-age threat to the traditional powerhouses is. Backing up the reigning MVP will be Nigerian Bright Akhuetie while reinforcing the MVP contender will be American Dioncee Holts.
Along with bragging rights, the game is also an opportunity for both squads to bounce back with the Altas having tripped two times in a row coming from a 4-0 standing and the Chiefs having lost for the second time in six games.
Meanwhile, only one between the two hottest teams in the league – after Letran, of course – will be able to keep their momentum by the final buzzer of their contest which tips-off at 2:00 PM.
Art Dela Cruz and Ola Adeogun have rallied the troops after the loss of court general Baser Amer and have the Red Lions positioned as a scary second-place team at 5-1. On the other hand, the Heavy Bombers have lifted off to reach 4-2 courtesy of second-year guard Teytey Teodoro who has finally stood up as their go-to guy.
