DIFFERENT FEELING. For the first time in the season, Letran finally knew how it felt like to lose.
Through seven games of the season, Colegio de San Juan de Letran boisterously returned to their locker room after another well-fought victory.
That all changed last Friday at the San Juan Arena when Emilio Aguinaldo College delivered the biggest surprise of the year by becoming the first team to sully the Knights’ once immaculate record. Talking about the mood of the locker room post-game, Mark Cruz told ABS-CBN Sports, “Nakakapanibago kasi tahimik.”
Rey Nambatac also shared the same thing by saying, “Kakaiba. Parang hindi kami magkakakilala.”
How Letran felt was still evident when they exited the San Juan Arena and waited for the team bus staying close, but not saying much to each other. Even so, Nambatac said they were not stopping their post-game tradition of eating out together.
Staying together was also what team captain Cruz told his teammates inside the locker room. “Sinabi ko sa kanilang ngayon natin kelangan lalong mag-stay together. Patunayan nating kakayanin nating sama-sama,” he said.
