WORRY NOT. Reigning MVP Scottie Thompson's left foot is okay and will have one week to heal before Perpetual's next game.
The University of Perpetual Help community has no need to press the panic button after tests revealed that reigning MVP Scottie Thompson did not sustain a major injury.
Per Thompson’s Instagram:
With six and a half minutes remaining in the Altas’ matchup against Emilio Aguinaldo College, Thompson landed the wrong way during a rebounding sequence. Thompson lay crumpled on the floor while holding on to his left foot for some time before being helped up and towards the locker room.
Thompson finished the game inside the locker room and only exited once his teammates were also finished changing clothes. Then, he described the pain he was feeling to reporters by saying, “Sobrag sakit pa. Gumagapang sa taas ko. ‘Di ko malakad.”
The reigning MVP also shared that his left foot was already bothering him even before his bad landing. “Nung third quarter, natapilok na rin ako, pero pinagpag ko lang,” he said.
Nonetheless, Thompson re-assured – even though he was yet to have tests – the Altas community that he will be all right come the next game. “Okay lang. Kaya ‘to next game,” he confidently stated.
