TEYTEY TAKEOVER. Teytey Teodoro turned in the biggest performance of the week by scoring 18 points in the final frame to lead JRU to a come from behind win.

For years, Jose Rizal has been looking for someone who could carry it in the clutch. Meet Tey Teodoro.

Trailing 18 points in the fourth quarter, Teodoro took charge and poured in 18 of his career-high 32-point performance to power Jose Rizal to a come-from-behind victory over a hardluck Mapua, 90-87, in a 91st NCAA basketball tournament first round game last Tuesday at The Arena.

Teodoro's heroics helped the Bombers keep their place inside the magic four with a 5-3 (win-loss) mark going into the second round of elimination.

It also clinched the fiesty guard the ACCEL Quantum/3XVI-NCAA Press Corps Player of the Week award, besting San Beda's Nigerian behemoth Ola Adeogun and Letran's Rey Nambatac.

Teodoro has been having a career season, averaging 16 points a game for a Kalentong-based team seeking no less than its first seniors championships since going all the way 43 years back.

"I've told him he's the best player in this team," said Jose Rizal coach Vergel Meneses of Teodoro.
Teodoro thanks his coach and teammates for the trust.

"I wouldn't have done this without coach and the team," said Teodoro.
