MUCH-NEEDED. Scottie Thompson opted for some rest during the NCAA's midseason break.
Reigning MVP Scottie Thompson will listen to his body and sit out the upcoming NCAA All-Star Game.
The University of Perpetual Help leader was named into the East All-Stars, but told ABS-CBN Sports that he has decided to take the midseason break as a chance to let his banged-up body rest. Thompson is hurting from foot, leg, and back pains after playing 35 minutes per game through the first round.
According to Altas assistant coach Lester del Rosario, John Ylagan will replace Thompson in representing their school as All-Stars along with Bright Akhuetie and Gab Dagangon.
The second NCAA All-Star Game will be held on Friday at the San Juan Arena.
