BACK TO WORK. Letran and San Beda seek to continue pacing the league.
Games on Tuesday at the San Juan Arena
2:00 PM – San Beda (7-2) vs EAC (2-7)
4:00 PM – Letran (8-1) vs San Sebastian (2-7)
The second round of the 91st Season of the NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament opens with the current number one and two teams battling separate foes.
Colegio de San Juan de Letran tries to keep its league-leading position while San Beda College tries to bounce back from a loss when both of them retake the floor on Tuesday at the San Juan Arena.
At 4:00 PM, the Knights look to impose their “magulo basketball” once more against the San Sebastian College-Recoletos Golden Stags. Although head coach Aldin Ayo said they will adjust to their foes who have already adjusted to them, the Intramuros-based squad will still rely on its almost impenetrable pressure-packed wall.
San Sebastian came close to breaking down the Letran wall in the first round and steady leader Jamil Ortuoste will pair up with emerging Michael Calisaan as they attempt to finish the job this time around.
In the day's other game at 2:00 PM, the Red Lions look to put away the competitive Emilio Aguinaldo College Generals even without two of their three pillars. With Baser Amer still injured and Ola Adeogun suspended for one game, Art Dela Cruz will again have to carry the load for the five-peat champions.
Attempting to take advantage of San Beda’s shorthanded lineup will be an EAC side powered by the tireless duo of Hamadou Laminou and Sidney Onwubere.
